Taipei Metro Xinyi Line Eastern Extension to Open by Late June at the Earliest, Trial Operation Planned for 1 Month of Free Rides

The Eastern Extension of the Taipei Metro Xinyi Line has entered the final countdown to opening. The Taipei City Department of Rapid Transit Systems stated today (23rd) that construction progress has reached 90%. It is expected to be submitted to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications for inspection in June, with the earliest opening scheduled for late June. A one-month period of free rides is planned for the trial operation.
