The Indonesian Taiwanese Alumni Association and Jakarta Taiwanese School jointly organized the first preparatory Chinese camp for studying in Taiwan from the 22nd to the 26th, attracting 45 Indonesian students preparing to study in Taiwan. The school stated that it aims to help Indonesian students preparing to go to Taiwan improve their Chinese listening and speaking skills, laying an early foundation for language and local adaptability. Jakarta Taiwanese School is one of the four Taiwanese schools supported by the Ministry of Education in Southeast Asia. On the first day of the camp, Association President Chen Wei-wen, along with Vice Presidents Lin Lie-hao, Qiu Hui-sheng, and several executives, came to show their support. The school also assigned teachers Lin Zhi-ting and Li Qing-feng to be responsible for teaching, with four graduating students serving as teaching assistants. Jakarta Taiwanese School issued a press release today (28th) stating that the school arranged for graduating students to serve as teaching assistants, hoping to reduce the anxiety of Indonesian students through peer guidance, assist in teaching, share experiences, and break down classroom barriers. Principal Chang Jin-fu said that mastering Chinese is key to integrating into the Taiwanese environment. Students should seize the opportunity to improve their communication skills, which will not only help them live smoothly in Taiwan but also assist in obtaining on-campus work-study opportunities, fostering independent living and self-reliance. Teacher Lin Zhi-ting, responsible for curriculum design, pointed out that the five-day course covers practical topics such as greetings, shopping, finding directions, and traveling. Practical daily sentences are integrated into life scenarios, guiding students to "use Chinese, play with Chinese" in a full Chinese environment. The school added that at the end of the event, students were divided into groups to plan a one-day tour of Taiwan, practically searching online for MRT routes and EasyCard usage, and simulating calculations for expenses such as souvenirs, local delicacies, accommodation, and transportation. Chen Wei-wen stated that the quality of higher education in Taiwan is recognized locally. The association has received many inquiries recently, indicating an increasing willingness among Indonesian students to study in Taiwan. She added that the association will continue to provide channels for further education guidance, assisting parents and students in evaluating the developmental advantages of various university departments, and helping students make plans for their chosen institutions and prepare for adaptation before going to Taiwan.
