Regarding the bilateral relations between Taiwan and the United States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today (18th) that Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung emphasized during a meeting with U.S. House of Representatives Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Vice Chair Lucy McBath that Taiwan and the U.S. have expanded beyond traditional economic and trade partnerships into more areas. Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung hosted a banquet for them on the 17th, where both sides exchanged views on Taiwan-U.S. economic and trade cooperation and regional situations. Lin Chia-lung thanked the U.S. Congress for its long-term support in strengthening the Taiwan-U.S. partnership and promoting deeper bilateral cooperation. Recent Taiwan-U.S. economic and trade achievements have been fruitful, further deepening cooperation in areas such as economic security, AI, digital infrastructure, and resilient supply chains, building upon the foundation of traditional economic and trade partnerships. Therefore, he hopes that Congressional friends like McBath and Foushee will continue to assist Taiwan in jointly deepening bilateral economic, trade, and technological cooperation. McBath stated that Taiwan and the United States share many common values.
