[Cross-Strait] China Cracks Down on United Front Chaos, Taiwan Affairs Office: Illegal Intermediaries Profiteering Not Allowed

The "professionalization" chaos caused by China's united front efforts towards Taiwan has led to crackdowns in some areas. Chen Binhua, spokesperson for China's Taiwan Affairs Office, said today (17th) that illegal intermediaries will absolutely not be allowed to profit improperly from cross-strait exchanges.
At a regular press conference held by the Taiwan Affairs Office this morning, a reporter asked about media reports that the mainland has begun to rectify the chaos of some Taiwanese individuals profiting from cross-strait exchanges, and is promoting a "direct reporting and direct review" model aimed at bypassing intermediaries to directly connect with relevant Taiwanese groups and associations.
Chen Binhua responded that the mainland actively supports relevant cross-strait institutions and individuals in participating in cross-strait exchanges and cooperation in accordance with laws and regulations, but illegal intermediaries will absolutely not be allowed to seek improper benefits from cross-strait exchanges.
The WeChat public account "Another Look at the World" recently revealed that China's united front work, focusing on "first-time visitors" and grassroots youth groups in Taiwan, has been used as a tool for profit by some ill-intentioned individuals, leading to frequent "professionalization" chaos. Originally, exchange activities were monopolized by certain "circles of acquaintances" for extended periods, and the behavior of some "professional group leaders" became increasingly extreme.
The article stated that at least cities such as Jingmen and Yichang in Hubei Province have begun to rectify the situation by establishing electronic files for exchange personnel, blacklisting those with bad records, and implementing cross-regional joint crackdowns. Furthermore, the mainland is promoting the "direct reporting and direct review" model to bypass intermediaries and directly connect with "patriotic groups" and school clubs in Taiwan, thereby severing the interest chain and strictly investigating illegal fee collection behaviors.
