Today (the 7th) is the first day of work after the Qingming holiday. The Central Weather Administration reminds everyone that as a front passes, central and northern regions should remain alert for heavy rain, lightning, and strong gusts. Fortunately, the rain will ease starting tomorrow; from the day after tomorrow through the weekend, we will welcome a spring that feels as hot as summer. During the Qingming holiday, gusts of wind, heavy rain, and lightning disrupted travel plans across Taiwan. On the morning of the 7th, the first day of work, dense fog appeared in Kinmen and Matsu, affecting flight operations and once again disrupting travel for those returning from the outlying islands. At the same time, another front is gradually moving south across Taiwan, and the rain belt will move from north to south, making weather unstable across the country, especially in central and northern regions where severe weather is expected. Weather forecaster Huang En-hung stated: 'During the day, rainfall will be concentrated in central and northern regions, with showers or thunderstorms. Northern areas may experience localized heavy rain, followed by heavier rain in central areas. Please be aware of short-duration heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and strong gusts. By evening, there may be brief showers in the south, with increased chances of rain.' Fortunately, this front will weaken starting the 8th, and rainfall will significantly ease. Meanwhile, the environment will shift to easterly winds, and temperatures will rise. From the 9th through the weekend, the wind field will shift to southerly, bringing sunny, stable, and even summer-like hot weather. The Weather Administration notes that on the 7th, apart from northern Taiwan where high temperatures will drop to 22-24°C due to heavy rain, with lows of 19-20°C, central and eastern regions will see highs of 26-29°C and lows of 21-22°C. Southern regions will see highs of 29-31°C and lows of 23-24°C. Starting the 8th, northern highs will rise to 26-27°C, central and eastern regions will remain at 26-29°C, and the south will be around 30°C. From the 9th to the weekend, temperatures across Taiwan will soar to 30-32°C, with lows reaching 21-23°C. It should be noted that from the evening of the 10th to the morning of the 11th, low clouds or dense fog will reappear in Matsu, affecting visibility. Please pay attention to flight information for travel.
