President Lai Ching-te posted on Facebook yesterday (14th) to congratulate the Taiwan women's volleyball team for winning the runner-up at the 2026 Women's Volleyball Asian Cup, setting a new best record for the team in this competition. He also wished the Taiwan women's volleyball team continued success from this event and encouraged them to work hard and achieve excellent results in the upcoming Asian Games. In the Women's Volleyball Asian Cup held in the Philippines, the Taiwan team, which reached the final for the first time in its history, lost to South Korea yesterday with scores of 19-25, 19-25, and 22-25, finishing as runner-up, yet still setting the best record in the team's history. He mentioned that the team also has many promising young talents, such as 16-year-old Wu Tzu-hua, who made a brilliant debut in her first call-up to the senior national team, showing the bright future of Taiwan women's volleyball.
