Affected by the southwest monsoon, rainfall is still expected across Taiwan today (15th), with more significant rain in the central and southern regions. However, the Central Weather Administration stated that as the front gradually moves north, rainfall will significantly ease from the 16th. From the 18th through the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, various regions will return to partly cloudy to sunny summer weather, with temperatures commonly reaching above 30 degrees Celsius. Public outings will largely be unaffected by the weather. #Reported by RTI correspondent Chiang Chao-lun# Affected by the front and southwest monsoon, Taiwan's weather on the 15th remains unstable. The Central Weather Administration indicated that the central and southern regions will continue to experience showers or thunderstorms, while northern, Yilan, and eastern parts will have brief showers or thunderstorms, with a higher probability of rain in the afternoon, and the possibility of localized heavy rainfall. However, as the front gradually moves north, the weather will gradually improve in the coming days. Forecaster Tseng Chao-cheng of the Central Weather Administration stated that on the 16th and 17th, Taiwan will still be affected by the southwest monsoon, but the atmospheric environment will not be as unstable as on the 15th. Although the central and southern regions will still have brief showers or thunderstorms, the overall rainfall will gradually ease, and other regions will return to the summer pattern of afternoon thunderstorms. Especially from the 18th onwards, the weather will become more stable, and the Dragon Boat Festival holiday will usher in typical summer weather. Tseng Chao-cheng: "(Original sound) From the 18th to the 21st, various regions will return to partly cloudy to sunny weather. In the afternoon, there will be brief showers in the northern part of the central region, Yilan, mountainous areas across the regions, and localized areas in the south in the early morning. However, compared to the 15th, 16th, and 17th, the weather from the 18th to the 21st will feel more stable, with a pattern of partly cloudy to sunny weather." Regarding temperature, Tseng Chao-cheng pointed out that today, due to prolonged rainfall and higher amounts in the central and southern regions, the daytime will not feel too hot. However, as rainfall decreases, the sun will appear more frequently from the 16th and 17th onwards. From the 18th to the 21st, high temperatures across the regions will generally reach above 30 degrees Celsius. The Weather Administration reminds the public that although rainfall will gradually ease from the 16th, there is still a chance of brief thunderstorms in mountainous areas and some plains in the afternoon. Those going out for activities or returning home for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday should prepare for sun protection and heatstroke prevention. (Editor: Wang Chih-hsin)
