To strengthen the economic security and investment resilience of allies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today (15th) that Taiwan, the United States, and Palau are once again co-hosting an "Global Cooperation and Training Framework" (GCTF) international workshop in Palau. The workshop focuses on enhancing the country's economic investment, inviting government officials, industry, academia, and experts from like-minded countries to share experiences on promoting sustainable foreign investment and strengthening economic resilience. It also explores how to balance transparent governance and critical industry security while promoting economic development.
In his opening remarks, Taiwan's Ambassador to Palau, David Y.C. Chen, pointed out that Taiwan, through the "Rongbang Project," is assisting Palau in developing its power infrastructure, green energy, and eco-tourism, promoting a sustainable smart island, and deepening judicial cooperation to jointly maintain economic and social security. Landisang Kotaro, Chief of Staff of the Office of the President of Palau, stated that transparent governance and trustworthy partnerships are key to attracting quality investment, promoting sustainable development, and maintaining stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that since its establishment in 2015, the GCTF has become an important platform for Taiwan, the United States, and like-minded countries to share expertise, enhance capacity building, and address common challenges. This event held in Palau demonstrates the shared commitment of all parties to promote transparent investment and sustainable development, and highlights the efforts of Taiwan and its democratic partners to jointly safeguard the security, prosperity, and free and open order of the Pacific region.
