The Air Force Command Headquarters stated today (15th) that the Air Force is purchasing F-16V blk70 fighter jets from the US and is currently fully promoting the acceptance and preparation work according to the US Air Force's plan, and is controlling the US side to carry out the handover and return flight operations of the fighter jets at the planned nodes.
Netizen taxiwaymike shared a photo of an F-16V blk70 fighter jet with tail number "6831" on the social media platform Instagram today, marking the shooting location as Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, Texas. The twin-seat F-16V with tail number "6831" is the first outgoing aircraft of the 66 F-16V blk70 fighter jets purchased by Taiwan from the United States. Lockheed Martin Corporation held the first aircraft rollout ceremony in March last year.
Since the photo posted by netizen taxiwaymike shows that this F-16V blk70 fighter jet with tail number "6831" is equipped with 3 external fuel tanks and a baggage pod, it has sparked public discussion about whether it is already flying back to Taiwan.
In response, the Air Force Command Headquarters pointed out that the Air Force is purchasing F-16V blk70 fighter jets from the US and is currently fully promoting the acceptance and preparation work according to the US Air Force's plan, and is controlling the US side to carry out the handover and return flight operations of the fighter jets at the planned nodes.
The Air Force stated that matters related to the handover and return flight of the fighter jets involve sensitive information and, as a matter of practice, will not be commented on.
